Miranda IM is a multi-protocol instant messenger client. By default, it supports AIM, ICQ, IRC, MSN and Jabber. But it has a powerful plugin system where it can be extended to support almost any other protocol you can throw at it, include Yahoo, Gadu-Gadu, Netsend, Skype etc. The plugin system is not limited to protocol support. You can find plugins for almost anything you can think of, including RSS feed reader, weather alert, world clock, etc.

Opera is a fast and secure web browser that features pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated searches, built-in email and RSS client etc.

Opera Portable. Another alternative. Suggested by: TheReaper.
Opera@USB which is Opera in a ZIP file and a few custom tweaks.

CrystalDiskMark is a disk benchmark software that measures performance for sequential reads/writes and random 4KB/512KB reads/writes for any storage device. It does not require the target device to be formatted.

NetSetMan is a network settings manager that helps you switch between 6 different, visually structured profiles that includes IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, preferred/alternate DNS server, computer name, workgroup, DNS domain, WINS server, default printer and run scripts. Although mostly for mobile users who have multiple network settings at home, office, wireless, etc, this software can also be useful for advanced network configuration and diagnostics.

NetRouteView is a graphical alternative to the standard Windows command-line route utility (route.exe). It displays the list of all routes on your current network, including the destination, mask, gateway, interface IP address, metric value, type, protocol, age (in seconds), interface name, and the MAC address. NetRouteView also allows you to easily add new routes, as well as to remove or modify existing static routes.

Note: Does not currently support IPv6.

FileZilla is a fast and reliable FTP and SFTP client. It includes a site manager and supports uploads/downloads queue, keepalive, timeout detection, remote file search, SOCKS 4/5 and HTTP 1.1 proxy etc.

Note that starting from V2.2.23, Filezilla no longer runs on Win9x/Me because it has been converted to use Unicode internally.

VideoCacheView automatically scans the entire cache of Internet Explorer and Mozilla-based Web browsers (Including Firefox) and finds all cached video files. It allows you to easily copy the cached video files into another folder for playing/watching them in the future. If you have a movie player that is configured to play FLV files, it also allows you to play the video directly from your browser's cache.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all devices that you previously used. For each device, extended information is displayed: name/description, type, serial number (for mass storage), the date/time that device was added, Vendor ID, Product ID etc. USBDeview also allows you to uninstall USB devices that you previously used and disconnect those currently connected. You can also use the program on a remote computer, as long as you are logged into that computer as admin.

tinySpell is a small utility that allows you to easily and quickly check and correct the spelling in any Windows application. It watches your typing on the fly and alerts you whenever it detects a misspelled word. It can also check the spelling of text that you copy to the clipboard.
