[UPDATE] XnView V1.97

Posted: 30 Nov 2009 03:34 AM PST

XnView is an image viewer and converter that supports more than 400 graphics format. It has tons of options you can tweak. My favorite is to enable caching so that thumbnails are cached in a temp folder of my choice (unlike some image viewers that insist on writing the cache file to every image folder that you access).

In addition, XnView supports batch processing, so you can resize a whole folder of images with a click of the mouse, or apply various other funky filters. This feature is extremely powerful, since you can chain multiple filters in one operation (eg. soften, then resize, then add frame etc.) Oh, and did I mention, XnView is able to use Photoshop's 8bf plugins!

[UPDATE] NetWorx V5.0.6

Posted: 30 Nov 2009 03:24 AM PST

NetWorx helps collect bandwidth usage data and measure the speed of your Internet or any other network connection. NetWorx can help you identify possible sources of network problems, ensure that you do not exceed the bandwidth limits specified by your ISP, or track down suspicious network activity characteristic of Trojan horses and hacker attacks. It allows you to monitor all your network connections or a specific network connection (such as Ethernet or PPP) only. The incoming and outgoing traffic is represented on a line chart and logged to a file, so that you can always view statistics about your daily, weekly and monthly bandwidth usage and dialup duration. The reports can be exported to a variety of formats, such as HTML, MS Word and Excel, for further analysis.

[NEW] Manga Meeya 2.4 Beta

Posted: 29 Nov 2009 03:51 PM PST

Manga Meeya is a comic/manga reading tool. It supports very fast viewing, numerous archive formats (RAR, ZIP, CBZ, CBR) and recursive archive traversal (ZIP within ZIP, RAR with ZIP etc). Everything is customizable, including menus, keyboard shortcuts etc. You can explore in thumbnail mode, and optional flip animation gives additional realism when browsing. The application is originally in Japanese (hence it supports Japanese style right-to-left reading), but has been translated to English by fans.
